  • Ted & The Tomato in FAST Race Promo Video

Cool Beans: Two-Lane Blacktop Productions is producing a video of the 2014 Spring Martin MI US131 Motorsports Park FAST Drag Race. Here is a teaser promo, since the final version is [apparently] still under construction.

This promo is only 63 seconds long, but Ted Harbit & The Stude Tomato occupy 12 seconds of the whole thing! Woo-Hoo!

Sponsored by NPD and the FAST organization, Two-Lane Blacktop Productions covered the action in this June 2014 Factory Appearing Stock Tire Spring event. The...

I was trying to post this on the Racing Studebakers Forum with a link here, but something was wrong and The Racing Studebakers Forum wasn't opening this morning. It is now! BP

Kinda disappointing to see the car in the other lane running away from the Tomato. Very good shot from inside the car anyway.

Sal, I just checked my records from that run.

That was a "heads-up" practice run against whoever showed up in the other lane. The Hemi Challenger R/T was running in the FAST Class. Those cars are allowed considerably more modifications than Pure Stock Cars, as is The Stude Tomato.

That run in the video happened to be next to the slowest of the 8 runs Ted made at the event: 13.6061, with a Terminal Speed of 107.55. His slowest run was 13.7047, with a Terminal Speed of 103.18. The other six runs were all Lower ETs and Higher Terminal Speeds than those two runs.

The FAST-class Hemi Challenger turned 12.1153 on that run, but must have backed off at the end because he only had a 103.29 Terminal Speed. The 12.1153 is faster than Ted has ever driven any stock R-engined Studebaker at any track anywhere, and, thus, would have been hard to beat. BP

I just figured out how to tweak the link to start at the beginning and changed the OP accordingly. BP
