It is just Sooo tempting for me many times when people ask for the "Unobtainable", to just say "Keep Looking"!
I know that would not be very Politically correct and quite rude really. But reality is, that these extra super Rare Parts like this are not being made anymore and ANYONE who even dreams of using them "someday" is never going to let them go while they are on the topside of the earth.
The rest are fully functional, on someone's Car and not available. It must have been 40 years since a New in the box one was available at most Stude. Vendors or collectors.
But there is always that one chance in a Thousand that one will pop up, so I actually do wish you luck with that endeavor.StudeRich

When I got mine it was laying on the floor of the shop. I wasn't sure if it was for the R-2 or not, it was damaged missing both studs that retain it to the bracket. When I got home & found out it was correct I went to see Jon Myer (in culver City at the time) & he agreed it was correct & showed me the bracket that mounted it. He allowed me to trace the bracket so I was able to make a new one, repair the air cleaner & had it rechromed. That was 1992 & haven't seen one available since.59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!

[QUOTE=SN-60;857986]I have an extra '63 Avanti style R2 air filter assy. (Brian's appear to be all '64 version?) Also have a painted McCulloch-Paxton aftermarket version that takes one long filter as opposed to two.[/QUOTE
Ed, they are actually all Lark 63-64 they are the hardest to obtain as far as I am concerned. It's all governed by were the breather tube exits and the mounting points.
if Mark wants to ring Dave T I sold him a Hawk one and he might still have it.Brian Greenall

I'm looking for an R3 air cleaner if you happen to come across one. It's for the owner of the first of the 9 R3 Avanti. The genuine article.Bez Auto Alchemy

An Avanti R3 air filter has a bracket spot welded to one end that bolts to the metal radiator support, it's open for the filters on one end, and has the square tube out the side like 64 style air cleaners. It differs from the R2 style in that there is no stud out the side for mounting, and there is also no tube for the crankcase breather hose.Paul Johnson, Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
