View Full Version : Brakes: That little copper thing:-)

Recently replaced all the brake hoses, some months later I had the car on the lift for a LOF.........and I noticed that little copper gasket that is used on the rear brake hose, I need to find out in what position the gasket goes in.....top of the hose or bottom?
The gasket at the present is on the bottom of the hose, and truthfully the parts manual does not show a picture of the gasket or what it looks like installed.

Also, I discoved the shop installed another steel gasket on the top.

I have no leaks, but would like to know what is actually called for.

The copper gasket goes on the end of the hose that connects to the "T" block on the axle. Both the hose and the block have flat surfaces and the gasket is compressed between those surfaces.

I bought a Durango on few years ago that someone had improperly installed those....
I got it as a salvage/wreck after the fact!
1 new fender, hood, bumper, etc and of course one new copper washer and it turned out to be a great truck....
