Cool/Heat: climatizer duct hose cover

Did the factory provide a cover panel on the inner fender to protect the climatizer duct hose from flying debris off the front wheel or do I have to make one?? I see there is a deflector on the drivers side ahead of the master cylinder and clutch linkage but nothing to protect the heater duct work.

The years I've been familiar with, '50 LC. 53 C., and 55 LC did not have any protection for the heater duct. Infact, the '53's was a cardboard tube for the last 18 inches.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. This stuff they call sand now days is sharp faceted gravel that really raises havoc with anything exposed to it. Think I will make some kind of shield for the duct. Thanks for the reply.
