  • AOPA has run a story on the Avanti Airlift Tribute on their online magazine...

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has run a story on the Avanti Airlift Tribute from June 28 on their online magazine. I provided them with photos and information and it appears they did some research on their part. Here's a link to the story...

The sleek, sexy 1960s-era Studebaker Avanti and powerful but boxy Fairchild C-82 reunited June 28 in Maryland, just over five decades after an airlift to deliver some of the cars to dealers.

The gathering at Hagerstown was a lot of fun. There were several of us there who have an interest in both the Avanti and vintage aircraft. The Avanti-Fairchild link is an interesting bit of history. The AOPA story is a real bonus, providing exposure to a large group of folks who will, no doubt, find it interesting as well.

Many thanks to Bruce for making all of the arrangements for the event!
