Since I have replaced every other item on the car I thought why not the rear leaf springs, they seemed a little soft but have not been an issue with ride quality.
The replacement springs in question are:
1560439 or 87-551 HD (6 leaf) with a 6.75" free arch, 20.5" from pin to front eye and 30.5" to the rear.
The springs removed from my 64 Wagonaire are:
1560440 or 87-549 Std with an extra leaf (so 6) with, 8.25 free arch and 20.5" and 30.5" as above
The shackles being used are 529169 4" overall and 3" center to center bolt location.
My problem is , that when it is all assembled and resting on the wheels the rear spring eye is within an 1/8" of the frame and the shackles are splayed rearward almost touching the frame as well, in the hogged out area.
Ideas please....Dover is just around the corner and the old springs may be taking one last tour.
