Speedo / Tach / Gauges: 1961 verus 1962 Lark Clocks

This has come up before but I couldn't find a definitive answer, so here it is: there is a difference between the 1961 Lark clock and that used on the "Deluxe" Larks in 1962. In the photo the clock on the right is dated Mar. 62 and is for a 1962 "Deluxe" Lark, the clock on the left is dated Aug. 60 and is for a 1961 Lark. The difference is in the outer trim ring around the face of the clock. The 62 has a darker ring. There probably aren't but a few who know or care, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway.

You do have to keep in mind that these were supposed to be a Good match for the Instruments. The '61 Larks all had the same White faces, as used on the above mentioned '62 Lark Deluxes.

But the '62 Regal, Daytona and Cruisers used the Black faced Instruments, so the above (Post #1) makes some sense.
Also because they always tried to make small inexpensive "Changes" to make newer models look different.

Note that the Center "Hubs" are different also.

White Face 61, Black Face 62.


The middle white face I have an issue with. the center button is real shinny.. The left and right have a duller button..

Well they DO look exactly the same as dpson's, the Hub appears to be domed on the chromed one and flat on the Satin brushed Aluminum or Stainless look one. That and the Minute Hand is shorter on the '61 with the WHITE outer Ring. No problem there.
