Anyone know the part number of the tail light housing to body gasket number for a 53 starlight coupe c body?
Thanks

Are you sure there WAS one? There is a Lens to Tail Light Housing Gasket listed on Pg. 208 of the S.I. Catalog, but none for the Housing to Body Gasket.

So anyway IF there was one, they are no longer available.
I do not remember them having one, but if you want one it could be cut from an inner tube or some other thin Rubber.

No gasket, but unless you insist on 100% authenticity, it needs one. I improvised by using a strip rubber gasket material about 3/16th square with a channel on one of the 4 sides that fit over the edge of the tail llight housing. Don't remember where I got the material, but it nicely filled the gap between the housing and the finder.

I used plastic chrome door edge. It went on easily and is not noticeable as it blends with the chrome of the housing.
Batteries were a bit low on the camara so it actually looks much better than pictured.

I bought rubber for my custom 55 from Bill F. from Nashville. Not sure what application it came from. Seems like he said it was from a later hawk. It was small (not bulky) Valarie Hansen sells it now. I'm not sure if she would have it. But, I bet he would remember what it was.

I saw one on a car today, they must have used something that was not stock

Wasn't there a foam rubber ring around the light socket in back? (very similar to the ones on window regulators)

I need the same tail light to body gasket for my '57 which is NA from SI. I doubt if Valerie has it. I have 70 and 50 per cent of R & L. May use black silicon to fill in.

The body shop used some extra welting (black for me black car) on tail lights, headlight bezels, and around the grill surrounds for my 55. Came out really nice and adds something for a driver.

I have loads of new black welting. That would work well and look authentic of a '57 sedan.
