  • Interior: Repro Mirror stem recommendations ('64)

I have a new reproduction rear view mirror stem from one of our bigger suppliers.
It is insufficient to hold the mirror up as the ends just distort when tightened.
It's the type where the mirror & windshield mount both have round ball ends.
Have any suggestions? It's sort of unsafe to drive without a rear view mirror!
& yes, I have trolled the google.
    Thanks

If you are ever going to actually drive an Avanti , pitch the original mirror stem as far as you can. They were total crap from day one.

Got a good solution for a stem?

Thread update: This piece is the real deal, very sturdy.
If enough people return the ones offered by some of our venders, the market will respond.
            Thanks for the link.
