I picked up the May issue of Classic Motorsports the other day and during my initial thumb through I was pleasantly surprised to find a write up on Dave Kinney's R2 Avanti. This was the second Avanti produced. The article traces the Studebaker from its disappearance to its rescue and restoration The short, but very interesting, article is pretty cool. You do not often see Studebakers in this magazine that leans toward the sports car crowd. The article is on page 24.

Then two days ago my August issue of Hot Rod and found a very good article on Dennis Varni's '51 Woody custom. This car has been mentioned on the forum before, but this article shows the details of the construction of this beautiful custom.

Got to love it when Studebakers make it into mainstream automotive publications.

There is a definite shift in attitude towards Studebaker's. No longer do you hear the "Steady-breakers" comment but rather how cool they were or how ahead of their time they were. It's about time!
