  • Rear Axle: TT Gear Lube

I just discovered that my 1959 Silver Hawk has a Twin Traction differential (with a 3.54 ratio, as near as I can tell.) If I change the gear lube, are there any special requirements for this limited-slip unit? (Some limited-slip differentials needed special lubricants.) What would work best in this diff? Thanks.

The GM additive is a fine product. I researched and decided that Valvoline Syn Power Full Synthetic 75W-90 gear oil for Limited Slip should also be fine. You should find that at your local O'Reilly's or Autozone or similar parts store. I assume that if anyone thinks there is a problem with the Valvoline product, they will chime in.
