This story takes place in Auburn, CA. The car could have been scrapped, but fortunately it wasn't.

It brightens my day to learn that another one of these great cars was saved from the scrapper. Thank you for sharing this.

What a coincidence! My 1961 Lark came from Helton Motors in Auburn! I still have the dealer frames. Of course, when I bought it, it was in a back yard in Yreka, CA. I moved it to Klamath Falls, Oregon only to move it back to Yreka, CA 5 years later when I got a job there.

:D!!! Now to get him to join SDC, if he isn't already a member.

It may be too costly to consider, but Turning Wheels is an excellent benefit of membership. It would be nice if a good prospect for membership could be sent a packet which includes the magazine. Members could notify a designated source to mail the packet. If response from a trial effort is too costly or ineffective it could be halted. The prospective member could be asked it such a packet would be desirable and his/her address could be obtained.
