I ran across a Studebaker record player, http://www.amazon.com/Studebaker-SB6051-Wooden-Turntable-Radio/dp/B005B51KMQ It got me wondering who actually owns the name. I searched the forum and did get an answer.

A few years ago, I bought a "Studebaker" radio from Target. They had a whole line of different radios and phonographs. I must assume that the one for sale is from that group. I believe they were made in China
(what a shock). They all had the Studebaker name on each item.

Lots of people and companies own it. Once the Studebaker Corp gave up their trademark, anyone could use it -- and many have. You, too could register to use the name as long as it was on a different product than all those that have already paid to register the name as a trademark. But BTW, you must renew the registration every year.
