  • Anyone remember my Avanti?

Last year I bought a red 63 R1, #3416. The ownership trail, as far as I know is:

I bought it from Roger Beasdsley in Cle Elum,WA in 2013

Roger bought it in 1988 in WA from J. Kent Stansbury.

Kent, then in Torrance, CA bought it in 1986 from Walt and Jean Hull of San Pedro, CA

Walt bought it in Enid, OK in 1969

In 1969 in OK it has the names Allen Hayes and Denney Trego used cars.

It was originally delivered to Mosehart and Keller Automobiles in Huston TX.

Anyone remember the car or where it might have been from '63 to '69

          Lost history

You would THINK someone would have seen it, in all those years and all those former locations.
But you never know what it's history was, not an SDC Member, Garaged mostly or what.

And then, most Red Avantis do look a lot alike, in one of the most popular Colors, also Avantis were recognized as collectables right from the start, so not many have "Personal Touches" to set them apart like Larks, Hawks and other models.

Good luck with your search. Maybe try sending letters to the Editors of the various Chapter Newsletters where it has been or ALL, most of them would be glad to post your info for you.

I got my car's orig. owner data from the SNM ...so the info is out there. The name matched the plate on the console and jived with the Production order for the city.
