Did anyone ever build a custom Lark like the one shown on the model box at 1:1 scale? It has sort of a '60's Buick look to it IMHO. I don't mean that in a condescending way, either.

We're lucky that a '62 Lark model was available; I always wished Jo-Han would have done a better job on the front wheel opening though. They're not nearly as perfectly-round as the model depicts.

They are a pretty nice model. I never noticed the front wheel opening but I did notice the earlier 1957-60 steering wheel!

I advertised a hardtop version of one of these models a while back and got more phone calls and emails about it than on anything else I have advertised in the last decade!

Studerick, I just love your '64 GT in Bermuda Brown with vinyl Sports Roof. I'd aspire to own a similar car sometime, but with my kids' college costs being what they are, it's looking doubtful...at least for a while. By the time I can afford a car like yours, I won't be able to find a soul who'd touch it for mechanical work around here, sadly.

But it is a beautiful-looking car! LOL

It has the look of a '61 Rambler Ambassador.

If they bring that kind of money, I guess I should sell some of mine.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure, that back then, most model kits of 'annuals' used the same box art for every kit. The car included was shown in a corner photo on the box.

If you prefer an un-built kit...but it has the newer, less rare box.

Interesting. A serious modeler could probably paint and detail that one out pretty sharp. I do recall that though Jo-Han built various models of cars that AMT & Revell ignored, which was good; the Jo-Hans weren't great about accuracy. I think I built their Chrysler Turbine Car(or something), but it was a gift to me. I did build several AMT 1953 Studebakers, and I chose to assemble them mechanically stock, & not with the blown hemi.
