  • Anyone have a Carter WCFB 2224S they want to sell?

    Looking for a solid core for a total restoration . . .

This is just a shot in the dark. I have two 4 bbl cards from my long gone '55 Caddy. One is a Carter, the other is a GM 4-jet. I was just getting ready to list them on Ebay with the rest of my Caddy stuff.
Where would I find the model number designation you specified?
    thanks

Carters have a little triangular brass tag:

I'm going out to the garage a little later to work on the Hawk. I'll check out the carb and get back with you.

Which model (application) do you need? I have one off a '62 Lark that was destroyed by vandals. The carb has some damage, but I think the core is ok.

2224S was ued in 1955-56 trucks with a 4-bbl. I have a WCFB from a 1962 Hawk on the truck right now--some of the linkage is a bit different, but I made it work OK. I just figure if I am going to spend big bucks to have a WCFB brought up to full-on show quality specs, I might as well try to start with the correct carb. I know it's a shot in the dark, but you never know what folks might have sitting unused and unwanted on a shelf in their garage!

I just examined the carbs I have. The Carter has no brass tag. The closest thing I found was 'WFCB' stamped on the carb. This carb came off a '55 parts car and appears to be intact but after sitting for a few years would definitely need a rebuild.
This probably is not what you want, but let me know and I can send pics.
              thanks

Does the "a" after the "S" mean it's for an automatic? Just curious.

Is this a great group or WHAT?

It was suggested than I contact "T-Bolt," a vendor I wasn't familiar with and sure enough Dave had a restored 2224S ON THE SHELF for $275 exchange! He's sending it out today!!

This is the best group of car enthusiasts I have ever been involved with!!

                    THANK YOU

                    THANK YOU

FYAmusement, They may not be the model you wanted, but I think I saw at least 8 WCFBs in this pile on a table at Hershey yesterday. They wanted $200 each for these cores.
