    That was not what I expected, I admit. You could get an actual '50 Starlight for less. Bet the kit makers never expected that.

      "Frank" from American Pickers actually gave some insight into used battery operated cars. IIRC the little motors have some sort of petroleum jelly at the "journal" bearings and if they dry out, they are pooched. That and the issue of any acid leak from the dry cells would make a $2000 purchase un-useable.

        I have seen these in the past selling for around $100-$200. I think this seller is overly optimistic about it's value. On the other hand, someone who just HAS to have one of these and can afford the price might just cough it up. Stranger things happen every day.
