  • First Studebaker

Well, it's official. I'm getting my first Studebaker-- the very original '53 Starliner project car from Bob Peterson, who is, might I say, a class act. I've wanted one of these since I was a teenager.

What a GREAT example to start on your first Studebaker!
I suppose you won't get it from coast to coast overnight but, if you can, you may want to plan on driving an hour and a half to York Fairgrounds first Thursday or Friday in March to meet a whole bunch of folks who will end up being instrumental in helping you see the project to completion.
Saturday works as well but the swap meet is winding down by noon.

Ya Matt was interested in the 53/55 I sold and delivered to Texas on it's way to Mexico and e-mailed me just after I got this 53 and I told him it would be for sale soon and when Dick did the post he wasted no time calling and bought his first Studebaker, thanks Matt always willing to help, projects are my business.

The Tail Lights, "Commander" Script, the Low Mounted Trunk Handle with a separate Lock and the "TriStar" Emblem are the clues to it being a '53, this is a very solid looking Car, good score!

ID:	1687618 For you newbies to '53 and '54's, here is a '54. If there is a choice, this is the one you want.

Way to go! You have what is considered one of the pinnacle cars of "Studebakerdom". I also congratulate you for not being deterred from buying a a quality rust free car on the "wrong" cost and having it shipped. As others have said, please keep us posted on your project with lots of pictures.

Congrats on a great first Stude'. Try and get to York next month, you might find some odds and ends you need or at the very least get to mingle with a great bunch of people.
