The Gold Avanti that used to be a Orange Empire Member's Car before he passed away, was an R4 & always at the big La Palma Car Show in Anaheim, CA in the 1980's and 90's. I think I remember it being a square headlight Car probably a '64. I think his name was Dick Kamphefener

No Avantis were ever factory painted Rose, only Maroon.

Dick K's car was R5481. The color code was GC. He lived in Anaheim on Caplan St.

Alan, whose R4 engine Avanti was the one featured in the Engine Swapping mag and got the 425" Oldsmobile from Herbert and Meeks?

IIRC, the swap came about because the owner raced and blew the R4 a couple of times.

FWIW, to those new to Studebakers, there were no factory-delivered R4 Avanti. Several have been owner-built over the years
