  • Body / Glass: Springs for fuel filler door?

My 59 Hawk fuel filler door is very floppy.

I'm thinking that I either need to get it Viagra or some springs for it. Since it's too embarrassed to ask for the blue pill, I thought I'd try the springs.

But I can't find any info on them. Does anyone know where to find a set?

Or failing that, some pics so that I can maybe figure out how to sub in some from other brands.

    thanks

New ones are in the Studebaker International Catalog, Phil: Part #285120-1. BP

      Thanks Bob!

      "GAS LID SPRINGS," huh?

I searched under every relevant term I could think of, but "lid" was not one that popped into my head!

        You're welcome, Phil.

Actually, I didn't know exactly what they were called or where they were in the catalog, but I knew for sure Ed Reynolds had them.

So I just looked around until I found them, knowing they were in there somewhere! BP

That's where I found mine. In May I told Ed that I think I had bought every part he offered for my car. He told me I need another car!

Ain't it absolutely AMAZING what one can find in that catalog. Beats any Sears or Montgomery Ward catalog from years back... BUT those glossy pages don't make it any easier in the outhouse.
