  • Electrical: Changing from 6 volt pos ground to 12 volt neg ground.

I understand 110 volt and 220 volt in the house, but automotive electric and I'm dangerous.

Question: 6 volt pos ground to 12 volt neg ground using original 6 volt starter, is direction of starter reversed or is a change required?

Good move to switch to 12 Volts on Your Speedster. Studebaker really should have made the switch when the bigger engine was introduced in '55, instead of waiting till '56.

It should be a rather clean transition. All new Stewart Warner 12 V gauges and sensors, 12 volt alternator that's been laying on the shelf since I sold the last Dodge Spirit years ago, 12 volt halogens on relay, new 12 volt coil that I bought for God knows what and every bulb needs to be changed anyway. Ordered overdrive solenoid today.
