  • Can someone confirm this engine code?

Turns out my 224 may not be a 224, my engine code is P27483 which from what I have found so far is a 289 out of a '56 President ot Sky Hawk. Can someone verify that? Thanks.

I don't have my books here at home (they at the store) but I will almost bet a dollar to a doughnut it is a 1955 President 259 CI engine. Does it show any sign of decal on the valve cover (it would be a Passmaster).

Somebody painted it Chevy Orange years ago so no decal. In my Chiltons', which is the 1954-1963 edition, it lists the beginning number for the 1955 President 259 as P101 and the 1956 President/Sky Hawk 289 as P22001.

Congrats on having the 289. I guess I owe you a dollar, or is it a donut.
