  • Engine: 62 lark 6 cyl crank case breather tube question.

Hello I would like to replace the metal screen material in the breather tube. Where can I get this or what can I use to replace it?

    Thanks
    Andy

Does your '62 have a road draft tube extending down toward the ground?
If that's the breather tube that you mean, the I'd recommend cutting up a copper pot scrubbing pad. It won't rust, and is held in place by a long cotter pin. Also, don't use too big a piece of mesh or pack it too tightly. You are only trying to keep out bugs and such, and still allow the tube to flow some air.

      Copper or stainless scrubbing pad.

Thank you, That's what I was thinking also but I wanted to make sure. Is it really even needed?

        Thank you for the reply

Yes it is the road draft tube. I will replace it today with the scrub pad. Thank you for the reply.
