Does anyone know what width the rear axle is on a 58 pickup 1/2 ton. Not sure what model, thats all the info i have. Is it the same measurement as a 57 golden hawk rear axle?

I come up with about 58 3/4" from flange surface that mates backing plate to the other side.cars aren't as wide, but I don't have one to measure.if it's ratios you want to change you may do so with the truck housing.Joseph R. Zeiger

The truck axle is wider. The width of the car housing is 52.5" vs. the truck housing is 58.25"59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!

You do know the Truck is probably a 4.27 or 4.56 Ratio depending on the Trans. Type, an Automatic may be as high geared as only 3.73, any of these would be a bit Low Geared for a Car without Overdrive.
If your Axle spline count is the same, the Complete Carrier should swap over however.StudeRich
