  • The Lark VIII is running again , and with the "Wabash Cannonbaall"

Lark VIII girl's car is back running again. After having the cranksaft break, that has been replaced with a new one, the bearings replaced and the oil pump rebuilt.
Also the automatic transmission was rebuilt at Jess Lewis Transmisson in Fort Wayne. A special Thanks to Susan at Studebaker International for finding everything needed to repair the car. And also very special thanks to Erich at Summit City Chevrolet of Fort Wayne , IN for working on a Studebaker older than he is. The Lark is starting , running , and driving well.

Today was an excursion run for the "Wabash Cannonball" from Fort Wayne, IN to Lafayette, IN. on the old Wabash tracks. The fully restored Lima built engine 765 was also on its first run this weekend after a restoration that took years. The train sold out in hours and extra cars were added and those were sold out.

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Indeed, the front 3/4 view of the loco pulling the train is worthy of the steam world's TW equivalent.

"Wabash Cannonball" -- good enough name for a song title.

Kudos on the repairs, too, and done fairly quickly.

Seems like many Studebaker fans are also ferroequinologists!

A variation of N&W's last passenger train(pulled by an NKP engine too) before Amtrak took over, with one of N&W's water tenders! Nice!!
