  • Reedsville Gem... Polished Aluminum Visor

    This visor was pretty.
Everything was straight arrow...and polished all perdy like.
    Price was great, too.
    Maybe someone could use it.
It is a split windshield clamp style, and side bracket clamps are there, too.

      Side clamps were there.
This doesn't use the huge hinge bar setup that the Fulton brand visor used.
This one has the drip rail clips and clamps setup, and had the center bar clips and clamps..

I flipped it over and looked at it pretty close...
Maybe the little clips weren't there, but the gutter mount(s) were there...

It would have been long gone on Thursday if it was complete.

I looked at it and thought it was stainless.

Hmmm... if only it wasn't for a split windshield.

                    I think that's a Casco visor, about 1949-50.

Ryan wrote down "Comet" on the card he gave me.

That is a great looking visor. I have a split window coupe. That visor on Jeff's CE looks great to me, and I have seen them on other vehicles that seemed to blend in naturally.

However, I don't think I could bring myself to install that thing on my coupe if you gave it to me. I favor the clean sleek lines of my vehicle. Sometimes, I think we go a bit overboard slapping every imaginable extra we can find on our vehicles.

Continental Kits, double spot lights, fender skirts, curb feelers, mud flaps, two foot tall bumper guards with cross bars...then, wonder why the poor car's suspension begins to fail.

Mr. C: i agree with what you are saying, and i wouldn't have gone with most of the above items mentioned. but i happened to end up with what was Tom Elliott's '51 Business Coupe last year and feel like i'm more of a "caretaker" of his "vision", if that makes sense.

i have some pics i found of the '51 with a visor, a red '52 steering wheel and more parts that were added and/or removed at some point. i don't know if he did that or was done later to sell the parts: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...Business+Coupe

i'd love to put a Studebaker V8 in her but $$$, physical ability, etc. will probably keep me from doing so. the mechanical/electrical repairs needed on her as she sits now will probably all i can hope to do at this time...
