  • Fuel System: Rebuilding a Stromberg WW - Tools J-1561 and KMO-269-S-4

I have just cleaned up a Stromberg WW carb. I would like to clean the main jets. I understand I need these tools to remove the main metering jets and the main discharge jets. I found the first tool on ebay, ranging from $15 to $45 + shipping. I've no idea what the second tool looks like. Are these readily available in Canada?

Okay, you've found the main jet wrench, and as you say, there is a wide price range to choose from. Mine is a Mac Tools SC-2, don't know if that one is still available or not. The emulsion tube puller looks like a very small, tapered, T-handled extractor. It was screwed into the tube and pulled on the handle. I do not know where or if these are available. The common method now is to thread the end of the tube with a 6-32 tap about 6 or 7 turns deep. Next, put a nut and flat washer on a long 6-32 screw. Turn the screw into the threads you made, then use the nut against the flat washer as a puller to extract the tubes.

The 6-32 tap and screw method works like a charm.
