IDYSD in Eastern CT & RI
Misquamicut Beach State Park in RI was holding a three day festival. Being not aware of any observation in Eastern CT, I drove over and it just happened that the car parked next to the Avanti was a beautifully rodded 1953 Champion coupe. Both cars received considerable attention in a total of maybe 75 cars. The lady in the photo was very interested in the car and I asked her if she would like a picture sitting at the wheel. She said she would have fun showing it to her son. I took a photo with her camera and then asked if I could take another with mine.
On the way back to Niantic I passed the Avanti's Pizza in Mystic. A car was noticed following me for a couple of miles on the way to our home. When I parked in the driveway a couple in the following car asked what kind of auto it was, as they had not seen one, previously. I told them that if they had a few minutes I would show them the Studebaker and explain its history. It was fun doing a show and tell here at home!
