Cool/Heat: Avanti new radiator

Are you sure that the radiator is the problem?
Did you remove the engine core plugs and completely flush the engine block out? Is the timing set correctly? Is there any impediment to the air flow through the radiator and the engine compartment? Is the engine tighter than normal (recent rebuild)? Is there a drag in the drivetrain (brakes, etc.)? Is the thermostat working properly and instaled properly and of the correct temperature?
If the radiator has been well cleaned and you still have a problem in a few miles, I suspect that you have a problem other than the radiator.
Are you sure that the engine is overheating? Does it boil over? Perhaps the temperature gauge is just giving you an erroneous reading.
