I drove my '55 under it's own power for the first time today! This was also the first time I ever drove a Studebaker. The previous owner hadn't had it running in 3 to 4 years so I wasn't even sure it was going to start. Got a battery in it and it spun right over but no spark. I put new points in it and got it fired up. It still needs a carb overhaul and the 3 on the Tree wasn't cooperating but it was a blast just the same. You guys were right, I was amazed at how strong that 224 pulls! I'm anxious to see what it's like when the carb is working right and I can actually get it in 2nd and 3rd with the car moving. I can't get over how easily it turns and how short the turning radius is. The previous owner had mentioned adding power steering, I'm glad he didn't.
