We often lament the dearth of Studebakers at open meets. Today, at a meet to benefit the local Youth Service Bureau, we had four Studebakers.

One '63 Avanti, and these three '53-'54 Starlights.

You know, I think the hawks have a good balance of pretty and aggressive. But the early C/K bodies there so pretty it makes me all feel nervous and kinda scared to talk them, you know?;) Brad I think your car convinced me to keep the side window and the windshield trim on my car.

One thing that surprised me at the International meet in Colorado - there were no stock 53-54 C/K cars.

Geeze, Brad; what sweethearts. Is one of them yours, or was the Avanti yours?

Are all those owners SDC members? :D BP

Actually, Eddie, mine's a baritone. ;)

Are all those owners SDC members? :D BPYes, indeed, Bob. Mine is the maroon one; I call her Désirée, after Bernardine Eugénie Désirée Clary, one-time fiancée of Napoleon Bonaparte; a French woman who became Queen of Sweden and Norway as the consort of King Charles XIV John. GO FIGURE, me being Swedish by temperament and lineage.

The green one is owned by Pete Wilson, one of the original founding members of the Keystone Region Chapter way back in 1736. Both have been modified to 289 cid, mine from a Commander, Pete's from a Champion.

The Yellow '54 is recently exiting Denny Foust's garage; a Champion with a virgin crate 350. In fact, this was its public debut. Denny is Chairman of the SDC International Meet Committee and was Chairman of the 1980 Gettysburg SDC, 2008 Lancaster SDC and 2011 AOAI and Atlantic Zone at Gettysburg AND a founding member of KRC.

The Avanti is a '63 R3 clone owned by Ron Strapel, also a co-chair of the 1980 Gettysburg SDC AND a founding member of KRC.
26783The iron horse is entirely welded of recycled chrome bumpers.

OH! By the way, Bob! Your name came up in my conversation with Pete! The previous owner modified it to the point where it has no battery hold down. I duly emphasized the importance of getting that quickly corrected! :!!:
