Anyone in the area that can check this car out?

Probably a moot question, it'll likely sell before I could get it checked out:

OH, that's the '54 Skyline! I guess we are not done yet hearing all the misconstrued Studebaker names! :(

Wow, that's pretty nice, especially for the money asked. Concerns would be the 0 point seller and limited information and details about the body and frame.

The seller has provided a phone number to call for more info. Have you tried calling?

Maybe John P. (JDP here). If so, it will probably be up for sale again after some work and a better listing (without Skyline, leather seats or duel exhaust).

Right Gary, you just have to wonder about people who do adds like that.
Can they actually OWN a car like this? :(

Listing ended as it must have sold to the person who offered $14,000.

Fresh rebuild with only 150.000 miles!

Typo?

Couldn't help yourself could ya' I suppose the black twin supercharged 53 isn't likely the most simple car to drive, where as this one would be a fun driver. I assume you plan to keep it? I think you probably bought a fantastic car, just all around very nice and well done, planning to change anything?

Congrats, Ed! If my instincts are correct, you got a heck of a deal! I'm inclined to think that the seller would have been much better off had he actually run an auction on the car, instead of just the BIN. I was temped, but not quite ready to jump on it without having someone check it out for me.

I hope it's everything it appears to be!

So was the odometer a typo?

You have to wonder about people who use adds instead of ads. ;)

Dean, the first mileage statement appears to be a typo to me.., "Engine - 62 Studebaker GT Hawk 289ci .30 over. Fresh rebuild. Less than 150,000 miles on engine"

At first, the way I read that statement was that the car had 150,000 miles before the engine was rebuilt.

If you notice, below the "fill in the blank" description area, he states,:

"Engine - 62 Studebaker GT Hawk 289ci .30 over.fresh rebuild.Less than 150 miles on engine. New pistons, rings, Cam bearings, oil pump, New Heads, Valve guides, triple angle cut on valves. New aluminum intake and alum valve covers."

I'm inclined to think the engine has less than 150 miles on the rebuild, but Ed can probably clarify.

.30" over is more than I have ever seen, too!

Occifer Dave, the Studebaker "Buy Of The Week" would be the car I mentioned to you when we spoke on the phone a few days ago.

Unless it's a total basket case, it'll be mine next week. I might need to be pinched.

If it's 12 volts, can anyone give me advice on how to convert it back to 6?

I understand why you would want to do that, Matt.

And, you owe me a keyboard.

I hope it works out for you, Matt! We need to get you into a "keeper" Stude. I've been worried we might be losing you, 'cause we have seen less of you of late. Fingers crossed!
