  • 2013 Meltdown Drags "Report" (now w/ VIDEO?)

'Just got an inquiry as to why no report on the 2013 Meltdown Drags in Byron IL.

My camera was being cleaned and had not been finished as promised, so I had no camera. Too, there were several Studebakers and with travel time from Indianapolis and back, I was only on location about six hours. That was not enough time to see all the Studebaker runs and get caught up shooting the breeze with everyone.

However, Rich Dudkowski's three daily Eye Candies so far this week have morphed into mini-reports of the event, with additional photos, that could be easily overlooked. Therefore, with thanks to Rich, I'd suggest reviewing the various posts in the following threads for pictures and reports of the dramatic 2013 Meltdown Drags:

For the video, see Post #4 below...and if anyone can take it further, please do.

Thanks again, Rich; it was a good time. (Next year, I'm staying overnight and will have my camera to put together a good report...maybe for Turning Wheels? <GGG>) BP

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

OK, I think I've figured out how to get the link to youse guys.

Copy and paste this link to your browser window and you should be able to see Ted's 12.873-second run in The Stude Tomato at the 2013 Meltdown Drags.

('Sorry you have to copy and paste, but at least I got it this far!)

If you would like to see a lot of pix from the Meltdown, the Bangshift Forum has 300 of them. Not all are Studes, but you can get the idea of how it was. See them here:

And here is a pic of me I found there:
