Did the Scotsman model have the cutout for the spare tire on the passenger fender?

They could have been ordered that way. There were Scotsman trucks that were deluxe models. I had a 59 with V8 fiberglass grill 4spd. Curb mount tire rear fender. Had a few other options as well it was basically a transtar but technicaly a Scotty.

The fender mount spare was standard with four wheel drive and an option on other pickups at a cost of $20.18.
In 1959, there were Scotsman, Standard and Deluxe models. There were NO Transtar pickups.
The Deluxe grille package including the fiberglass grille + was a $37.66 option.

EDIT: I have owned two 1959 pickups with the Deluxe Grille Package.

Just for clarity, I think it should be mentioned that the top of the '59 Truck line Trucks were not actually eliminated, as might be construed from this statement, just re-named from "Transtar" to "Studebaker".

Which in my opinion was a really stupid decision which was corrected in 1960.
WHAT could they possibly have been thinking?

Would I be correct in assuming that if you didn't like the spare tire cut out in the rear fender, that fender could be replaced with a regular fender? Still haven't decided if I like that look or not. Would the 2R box fenders fit a '59?

Most Scotsman Trucks had the spare bolted to the front of the bed, I believe the extra cost options were the Standard Rear under bed mount like a '59 "Studebaker" Truck, or the left or right rear fender mount.

Yes all P1 Beds have the same Fenders.

There is a '57 Scotsman wagon in today's Barn Finds website.
