  • Dana 27 posi rear axle for stude

looks like joe got his wish. he looked at the tag on the rear axle that he bought off craigslist from the Daytona two door lark two weeks ago for a couple hundred and he got his twin traction posi he wanted. good for him. we didn't know what he had until he looked at it closer, didn't realize we had a twin traction. cool for his hot rod

Good score if that is what he wanted, but I hope his "Hot Rod" is not too HOT, because a "27" is the lightweight Axle for 6 Cylinder and 259 V8's not for over about 180 HP.

A 289 has 305 Ft. Lbs. of Torque and will destroy one pretty quickly.

True enough, depending on the weight of one's foot and the height of one's gears. I put a 27 TT 3.07 behind a 289 and do not drag race or burn rubber, just get mesmerizing fuel mileage!

A word of caution; one shoe does not fit all. You break it, you bought it.
