  • The things you find at garage sales.

I don't stop at garage sales all that often, but one caught my eye the other day (it had some automotive stuff) so I stopped by. They had what I have to say would be one of the oddest things you would expect to find at a garage sale, the rear seat from a 1954 Studebaker Commander station wagon. This is the type the folds down flat into the floor bed. I've attached a couple photos.

I don't have a particular use for these and if anyone is interested in them let me know. They are fairly heavy.

When I took my girlfriend to South Bend in may 2006 for the swapmeet, car show, and a museum visit-she was thrilled that I took out time to take her 'yard saleing'! [was I secrectly hoping to find some Studebaker bargains?]

I believ this will fit 56 and 57. If someone needs a measurement or two from a 56 just ask.

Idoubt it will fit a 57... looks very different from mine. Different handle and covering on the back, and upper cushion on mine has only partial upholstery, so it'll fold flat into the floor.

I have not seen my wagon in a few years, but that sure looks like what I remember mine to look like. What does yours look like Bob?

Here are a few pictures of another '57 wagon or two...

I think you guys are confusing apples and oranges. Some are referring to the second (rear) row seat and others are referring to the third row (far back) seat.
