  • Fuel System: 289 intake manifold gasket question

Is there a difference between standard 289 and R1 intake manifold gaskets such as port size? Or is it the same gasket for both?
    Thanks in advance,

They are the same. R2 engines have a different intake gasket with a small hole. Ridges go up toward the intake on steel gaskets

        Correct...no difference.

259 and 289 use the same port shape for the "standard" engine, the R1 and R2.
        R3 and R4 are taller.
Pre-54 engines used a shorter intake port thAn the 259/289.
