  • Three new on the local scene...

Seen recently...all belong to Chapter members (in one case they joined the day the pic was taken)...

64 Commander at the June chapter meeting at a winery in Niagara, making its debut after a couple decades' storage.

63 Avanti at Studebaker/Orphan Night (July 4) at the revived Pier 4 Park cruise. Five Avantis were present among 13 Stude/Avanti vehicles.

58 Scotsman custom (somewhat resembling a 57 Champion, actually), also at Pier 4; owners joined us at this cruise!

Love the '57 Packard front end treatment on the '58. It appears that they retained the wrap-around outer mouldings from the Studebaker, because on the '57 Packard the parking lights were located there. It would be fun to see the rest of the car's modifications.

Good eye on the 57 Packard trim on the nose...I did not see the engine but am told it's a later Stude eight. When acquired it was little more than a hulk, with all the front bodywork inside the car! It came from the local S-P collection I've posted on here before. Incidentally, that collector retained several of his cars upon moving out of the area, so we may not have seen the last of those, either. They included a decent 1957 Packard and a very nice '51 Commander 4dr among others.
