  • A shot in the dark on dealer invoices...#2

    As stated previously, I acquired this bunch of paperwork from the C-D Motor Co. of Trenton, NJ some years ago at a York Swap Meet. Included in the box were the Studebaker Corp. invoices to the dealer from April 1963 to April 1966.

    Included are invoices for the following Studebaker Cruisers-Y8 bodies-EXPANDED LIST FROM THE ORIGINAL #2-

    These invoices include most of the data as found on the production orders plus date of sale, name of the buyer, and method of payment.

    That's weird Frank, Half of the '65 Cruisers are Sixes, and exactly Half are V-8's! And a LOT more '65's than '64's.

      StudeRich; I hadn't really made that observation, but perhaps you've touched on something that I haven't heard discussed before. From the volumn of cars sold in the Trenton, NJ area in those years, late '63 to early '66, I posit this:

      Did the Studebaker Corp. miss the boat by not offering 6 cylinder Cruisers after the glow of the 1961 model subsided? If 6 cylinder Cruisers sold this well in a heavily populated area in 1964-66, well?? I realize other factors may enter here, but, one wonders!

      Open to discussion.
