View Full Version : To save or not to save ??

So am I just kidding myself or would saving this nice roof panel from an otherwise rusted out 1961 wagon be worth the while. Storing it is not a problem but if I end up walking around it for years I would end up asking myself WHY!

Unless I found an immediate need for it I would either scrap it or use it to cut patch panels from. I dont forsee much if any market for it. My opinion,Steve

Never had a call for one in fact never had a call for any wagon roof and that is what I do salvage parts. your call.

If storage is in fact not a problem, just as sure as you don't save it, you'll see a want ad looking for one. Just how many have you seen for sale??? Real simple, after you remove the windshield, put a metal cutting blade on your skill saw and you'll have it on the ground in no time. Hope this helps.

You may call some hot rod fabrication shops in your area and see if there is a need. If your thinking of scrapping anyway, a phone call may produce a greater profit than scrap.
Any prewar hot rod project may pay a higher price for a steel roof plug.

When chopping my Lark the roof section was sold to a gentleman doing a 32 F**D.
Just a thought.
