I wonder if those non-deluxe (without horn ring) Studebaker steering wheels (like jackolcott is looking for) are any easier to find than the horn-ring types?

Mine has a horn ring and is a three spoke wheel and looks to be original to the car

That's interesting....every '56 Commander (And Parkview, I used to own one) that I've seen has the non-horn ring steering wheel, with center horn button that You twist to remove.

It ought to look a little bit like this~

but with a different 'horn ring', no?
              That is a '55 Commander.

(sorry- it's already been spoken for.)

It would look "a little bit like that" if it were a '56 'President' series Studebaker.

That is a '56 Parkview that was recently on Craigslist up near here.
I guess I oughtta just stick to my '57s.

StudeDave....You may also find that deluxe wheel in some '56 Pelham station wagon models .......but that doesn't mean it's supposed to be there!

I'll have to trust you on that. No worries here.
Since every '56 Parkview I have ever seen looked like that~
I assumed it is how they were all were built.
All Parkviews were tagged '56B-D8' were they not?

You bring up a good point...Perhaps there was a higher trim level '56 Parkview. I have no idea, but maybe someone else will know. every one that I have seen, not that I've seen all that many, have had the non-horn ring wheel.

I noticed, in the photo that StudeDave posted, the dashboard is two-toned on this '56 Parkview Station Wagon. The Parkviews that I have seen (owned one) all had a single color dash and non-horn ring steering wheel. That would indicate (I believe) that there indeed were two trim levels on the 1956 Studebaker Commander Parkview Station Wagons. Before StudeDave indicated that His photo was of a Parkview....I would have thought I was looking at a '56 Studebaker President 'Pinehurst' Station Wagon dashboard and steering wheel assy!!
