  • Lark wheelcovers

It's not a big deal, but interesting that I've seen Larks with the full wheelcovers like this:http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/phot...ark_photo.aspx in a couple of photos now with plain silver in the script 'S', but the on the wheelcovers I have, they clearly have black paint, originally.

My first thought was that Studebaker would have them painted red, actually.

1962 was red 63 had 3 white rings. There is blueprints for 1963 to be 3 rings painted body color.

Each year was different except '59-'60 Wheelcovers, you are looking at the 1961 Type, as the Pic says.
In 1962 & 63 they even had one type of colors for Larks another for Hawks.

The bottom line is, all '59-'63 are the same and can have the Decal Kits added to make them whatever.

Checker Cab bought them from the same Mfg. without the "S".

That would make sense then. I can't recall what car it was I saw on the other photo with the bare metal wheelcovers, and being wheelcovers, it could well have been any sort of year Lark for that matter. I know now.

Seeing this one car at a concours show prompted me to wonder out loud.
