Rockne Delivery? RTQ weigh in?

David Pink from down under recently posted this photo in the Antique Studebaker of Australasia facebook page. I've seen photos of the one-off '32 pick-up truck but, never this '33 Delivery.

Any clues to the pedigree?

Of course Studebaker offered the delivery body as shown in the two images above. However the one in your photo was not done by Studebaker but by a body builder in, I believe, Texas. No doubt a "one-off." I have seen only one original in the flesh and it is in the Seattle area belonging to the owner of a Rockne 4dr. The delivery he has is a former Hollywood car that was used in various films. Has no engine and is set up to have either a left hand or right hand drive. It is a decent unrestored car that probably will be done some day. I have heard of two others that are quite rough. Bottom line no restored or running original Rockne deliveries at this time. Too bad as they are neat little units.

I like the roof rack on top of the Rockne. A nice touch for a delivery man.

And they never did straighten up the front bumper.

The movie (1954) and the TV series were about a decade apart.

This were called General Jumbos and they required special rims. They had a rather short term of popularity in the period 1932-34. Supposed to provide a softer ride. I have other photos of them on the Rockne.
