  • Fuel System: NEW Single-Barrel Carburetor Available

'Just heard from my friend Ron Hewitt, Proprietor of Daytona Parts Company in New Smyrna Beach FL, probably the world's largest carburetor parts supplier and custom rebuilder.

As carburetor cores are getting worn out and beyond re-re-re-building, Ron has had many calls for a single-barrel carburetor for a multitude of stationary and motor vehicle applications. He has contracted to have a new one made with universal adjustments and attachments for adaptation to a variety of applications.

    Information here:

Daytona Parts Co. A premier supplier of high quality carburetor repair kits and Ethanol resistant carburetor component parts for carburetors, from 1923 thru today

Applicable portions of a personal note from Ron here, received yesterday:

Bob! Good to hear from you! Hope all is well!

Here is some information about our NEW alcohol resistant DAYTONA 1-bbl replacement carburetors. Check out our website (
www.daytonaparts.com). With this model we can retro-fit most any single barrel carb from 1932 thru the present, including Studebaker 6 cyl models.

They are all Manual Choke models; however any NEW carb is better than nothing, as these are the only NEW 1-bbl carbs that have been available in the US for the last 30 years. We have them in our standard fixed throttle and main jet models, and our fully UNIVERSAL models with adjustable throttle arms and adjustable high speed main jets.

We have already sold a couple of these to Studebaker 6 cyl owners; one for a 1948 Commander, and one for a 1950 Champion. Thank You!

This looks like cool beans for many carburetor problems, and it appears they have various fittings and attachments available for "customization" as required.

(Are either of the Studebaker owners Ron mentions here on the forum? If so, please report how that all-new carburetor worked out for you with the 1948 Commander and 1950 Champion retrofit.)

Very nice looking Carb. Bob, these should work great on Champion and Commander Sixes, maybe the Premium adjustable model could be juiced up a bit to give the 245's a bit more top end.
