  • Unusual Studebaker Items #8

I actually had a couple sets of these that I got in a dealer buyout back in the '70s. I think I have a single one somewhere.

Paul Johnson, Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
'64 Daytona Wagonaire, '64 Avanti R-1, Museum R-4 engine, '72 Gravely Model 430 with Onan engine

Probably a sensible accessory item.......Champ sixes were effected by moisture/dampness.....an old timer friend used to say that if someone even 'takes a leak' beside a Champ, it probably wont start! Of course, this fellow wasn't a big Studebaker fan!

SN-60, that is funny !! My Dad used to say if it rained in Arkansas, his old International dry cleaner's truck he drove wouldn't start over where we were in East Tennessee, ha! I never had trouble with my old Champion starting in wet or damp weather, but that was in 1972/73, so the wires or ???? probably had already been changed.
