Will the twin traction unit, ring and pinion from a 1959 dana 23 drop into a 44. The parts #s in the book are attached by a vertical line, but im thinking its just a indicator for tt just like it says.

I don't have my chassis catalogs here but, when you say, "The parts #s in the book are attached by a vertical line", are you referring to the illustration numbers? If so, those numbers are intended to identify a part that, depending on the application, may have a variety specific configurations.Brad Johnson,

No it will not. The Ring & Pinion used in the model 23 & 27 Dana is smaller and weaker compared to the Ring & Pinion used in the Dana 44. The internal parts are not interchangable.
