Just found out the 62 GT had the same 289 as in a Mustang.

Did they say whether they were Carroll Shelby Cobra prepped 289's? What's the point otherwise for Studebaker to have installed them?

Once again this misinformation. Whilst both Studebaker and Ford had 289 engines they were 2 diffident engines. Ours was a Studebaker design used until the foundry closed after the move to Hamilton, The Ford was exactly that - a Ford designed engine.

Looking at my engines I discovered all Studebaker engines were put in backward..........
The distributor is in the rear not like Ford installation. I will flip the engines this weekend and let you know Monday how it worked out.

Jack, if that doesn't work out right for ya, i could probably take the 289's (of which you speak) off your hands without charging much of a disposal fee!
