Went to the Brooklet, Georgia annual Peanut Festival Saturday.
Was in the parade, which was held at 10am (which is a good thing with this heat wave)..
Had two spots lined up for the parade, one for the yellow truck, and one for the old tractor. The wife couldn't go, so a decision had to be made. Drive the tractor in 90+ heat, or drive the air conditioned yellow Studebaker. Guess which one won out?
Quite an event, with a couple hundred entrants, and festivities all day and evening. The theme this year (besides peanuts) was military appreciation, and it showed in spades! At the staging area I got to speak with quite a few military people that were marching. Offered a ride to some, but noooooo.. They are tough, and wanted to march[:0]
Fun parade, with a LOT of farm tractors....but only one Stude in the parade...
Had an impromptu car show at the local tire repair shop.
Pat and Emily Skelly brought their GT Hawk over and we hung out until it got too hot, then we went out and got some grub in an air conditioned restaurant...
