I am looking for 5-#1557724 -15" x 5" NOS or good used Avanti or late 66 wheels. These should be the wheels on 63-64 Avanti and late 66, and were used on early Super Larks.
THANKS
PAUL

No NOS, but a set with less than 70,000 miles - Canadian service though! They have some surface rust but not sure how deep. If interested, I can check the 1st week of April. You should be able to find better wheels in the South but maybe not lower mileage.

I think most of the cars from the Hamilton plant came with the rims that have the extra step in them. My 66 has them and it doesn't have disc brakes.

I think you are correct, as long as they are 5" wide and have the raised step.

Here is the best alternative to original 5 or 5 1/2 in. wheels, and newer is better:

Only late '66's had the 5 inch wide wheels like Avanti, actually quite rare.

I could actually use #1563413 for the 65-66 and they are 4 1/2" wide with the raised step
THANKS

You do know that the "double hump" Kelsey Hayes Wheels you are seeking that are incorrectly referred to as: "Disc. Brake Wheels" are actually NOT the ONLY Stude. wheels you can use on Studebaker Disc. Brake Cars, right?

The (I think better) 4 1/2" Budd Wheels with the nice smooth curved center like all other Stude. Wheels which were non-Kelsey, also work fine, the '62 Drum Brake Cars and most '63's and some '64's had them WITH and without Discs with no problem unless you are Road Racing with high "G" turns, then you may have a problem!
They do fit and clear, they are just a hair closer to the Caliper than a Kelsey Hayes Wheel.
