  • Studes at Hot August nights

Just got back from Hot August nights in Reno. Seen a couple Studs. One that was hard to miss was a yellow w/flames, I'm guessing 53 with a blown big block. Pretty impressive. Don't think it gets much drive time as it looked all show. Seen a couple drivers that looked good. Overall it was another nice weekend of just old cars. I enjoyed it and will return. Anyone else attend???

Did you happen to see that red bulletnose convertible that was listed
on ebay a few weeks ago, for $36,000.00 +? It was also the one that
has been a scam listing many times. I remember that in the last ebay
listing the "owner" was going to take it to the "Hot August Nights"
and have it for sale. He also said it had been appraised at $42,000.00+

Kinda makes you wonder if it was a real deal.....or not?

Did not see the bullet nose but did make the comment on how many projects were for sale. (Usally a sign we are in a soft market) There were a lot of desirable brand x's. 55/ 56 chev 2 drs and 60 convertables. I know this off topic but it always amazes me how some owners think there cars are made of gold. The one that blew me away was a 41 chev. conv. no top, no paint/sun bleached rust, no interior other then springs and NOT running (flat tires, maybe he could have aired them up for the price). It said 31,500.00 firm. If not sold I will begin restoration next week. Well in my opinon he should be at the de-chroming stage this Sat. Any how, to many people watching Boyd ,Chip and Barnett Jackson. I got to the swap meet on Sat and it was just about over.

Someone has posted some pictures of the Hot August Nights on Webshots.
I don't see a yellow Stude, so maybe it is a different Hot August Nights, but here is the link:
